This is wine is sealed with a glass closure. I jumped onto to their website and this is what it said about the closure: ' In order to offer an alternative closure we go for the new invented VINO LOK glass stopper. This new stopper has been developed by the German subsidiary of the American company ALCOA situated in Alzey Rheinhessen. The closure is highly awarded and had to stand many examinations before finally released officially for the use in wine bottles.
One of the greatest advantages is the easy handling. Just twist the aluminium cap until it is fully open and the cap can be removed from the bottle. Now you can take off the glass stopper without the aid of tools or screw corks. After the cap is removed the stopper is held in place by a PVC sealing. The material is used many times in the international beverage industry. You can also replace the stopper on the bottle to store your wine in the fridge for several days. The wine will be saved from leakage.
This is a beautiful wine. It has lovely purity of fruit and brisk acidity. It seems to have an abundance of fruit sweetness rather than residual sweetness and matched with seafood, this wine actually appeared dry. Lime cordial, minerals/slate, racing acidity, apricot and orange peel all come to the fore. A marvelous example of German Riesling. 95 points Anthony D'Anna
