The Metala brand is an Australian icon. Sourced from the Langhorne Creek Metala vineyard, which includes the original 12-hectare vineyard first planted in 1891, this wine won the inaugural Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1962. The Metala brand, including the current label, was the brainchild of the late Brian Dolan, father of current winemaker and 2003 Jimmy Watson Trophy winner - Nigel Dolan.
