A fragrant, creamy and savoury viognier that exudes spicy and slightly meaty varietal apricot-like flavour without ever appearing heavy or overpowering. Scented with honeysuckle, ginger and lemon blossom, with undertones of cloves and cinnamon, it’s reasonably long and soft, with a chalky undercarriage of loose-knit tannin. Winemaker Steve Webber said that De Bortoli aimed to produce a style that was tight and aromatic when young that would evolve over a couple of years into a wine that was 'taut but generous, brooding, ethereal and thoroughly delicious'.
