As with John Riddoch Cabernet Sauvignon, Michael Shiraz is only produced in exceptional vintages using only the top one per cent of available Coonawarra Shiraz. Earning a reputation as the benchmark Coonawarra Shiraz, Michael is fermented and then matured in New American Oak for up to 18 months. It is deep red in colour with strong mulberry, peppery Shiraz berry aromas enriched with coffee bean American oak character in the nose. Michael Shiraz is Wynns Coonawarra Estate's best-of-vintage Shiraz. The fruit used for this wine comes from the best vineyard sites in Coonawarra and is only made in years when the best quality fruit is available.
