Eldridge Estate Chardonnay 2006 12 BOTTLES AVAILABLE. The wine is very bright in the glass with a slight green tint on the edge. The nose has aromas of citrus and melon with a slightly wheatmeal/nutty lift at the end. The palate commences with a strong citrus note and moves to stonefruit and soft oak with a firm acid finish. The stonefruit flavours linger for sometime. Great with natural freshly shucked oysters (buy a shucking tool – you’ll eventually get the technique and the rewards are fantastic). The grapes were whole bunch pressed using a gentle air bag press with carbon dioxide cover to retain the varietal fruit character. The juice was fermented in 50% new French Oak with some solids.
