Capel Vale Regional Series Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2007

Fantastic wine and just shows how strong 07 is in Margaret River. Rich chocolate, cassis, minerals and acidity. This will age a treat and great value at sub $20 a bottle. 93 points Anthony D'Anna

A powerful wine, with ripe blackcurrant and plum aromas and flavours; positive tannins offset any alcohol heat. Screwcap. 15% alc. Rating 91 Drink 2014 $22.95 Date Tasted Aug 08 James Halliday

Lots of dark black currant fruit. Has a firmness and red berry fruit. Has a soft juiciness but there is excellent palate depth and concentration. Lovely balance of fruit and oak. Length and persistence. Has a leafy rosemary character with a touch of cedary oak. A very stylish wine. 90 points Ray Jordan - West Australian

It is hard to think of the poor little lambies while carving a beautifully cooked rack, so we thought of this poor, little, beautifullymade, cab sav instead. Lovely, 9/10. Max Crus - Grape Expectations

Capel Vale's REGIONAL SERIES of wines come from select grape varieties grown for optimum quality on our vineyards situated in the 3 coolest wine regions of Western Australia.

This full bodied and elegant wine is a blend of predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon enhanced with a small percentage of classic varietals. Following fermentation and extended maceration, the wine has been matured in new and old French oak barriques, producing a complex blend of Margaret River fruit characters including cassis, eucalypt, capsicum, mulberry and plum with secondary notes of chocolate, tobacco and cedar.
