Furlan Congeliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOC

There are quite a number of hypotheses as to the origin of the Prosecco. The most credible of these, put forward as early as 1500 by Volfango Lazio and thereafter taken up by various other authors, identifies the Prosecco with the "Pucino", a notable wine of the Roman Empire, most likely coming from the Friuli-Trieste hills and cited by Plinio as being particularly appreciated by the Empress Livia Augusta. It would seem that the Empress had it delivered to her in terracotta amphoras (large pitcher-like jugs) from the port of Aquileia, and on account of this consumption, lived to the venerable age of eighty-two. Lazio's theory is supported by the fact that there is a village in Trieste named Prosecco, from which the vine of the same name, and a very similar vine variety known as "Glera", could most probably have come to the Treviso area

With the Italian Method and the "froth capture" in big containers the intense and fruity bouquets of the Prosecco exalt their original characteristics: scents of acacia flowers, wild strawberries and ripe golden apples. Prosecco’s soul explodes in this Brut. Carefully selected grapes from the hilltops ensure a refined personality. It is crystal clear, with an effervescent white froth and a fine perlage. The flavour is delicately soft and harmonic, it has a clean and pronounced character and it lingers on the palate for long time before entering the most pleasant memorie
