26 BOTTLES AVAILABLE.

Decanter, 2005 "50 Bordeaux Smart Buys - The names that deliver more for your money'Château Teyssier' Superb Merlot-Cabernet Franc fruit'"

Gavin Quinney, Wine & Spirits Magazine "87-89 Points. This is one of the biggest-selling St-Emilion chateaux in the UK. Jonathan Maltus of Le Dome gives this 75% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc blend from different parcels the full treatment. 100 best-value reds."

Neal Martin, Wine Journal, eRobertParker "90-92 Points. A lifted, floral nose minerally with violets. Very feminine and seductive. The palate is incredibly pure, with bouquets of violets and black fruits. Lovely balance and harmony. Caresses the palate. Gorgeous."

Steven Tanzer, International Wine Cellar "87-89 Points. Fruit-driven aromas of raspberry and licorice, lifted by floral and orange peel nuances. Juicy and sweet in the mouth, with a lively sugar/acid balance and more spicy red fruit intensity than this wine has shown in the past. Proprietor Jonathan Maltus noted that these vines were pruned back to six or seven bunches in 2005, compared to eight in the past, and that this has brought greater concentration of flavor. Finishes with fine tannins and good lingering fruit. Should make a tasty wine for drinking over the next seven or eight years."

Wine Enthusiast Online, April 2006 "87-89 Points. This is good value Saint-Emilion, with the same winemaking team as Le Dôme. It is ripe, dense with high acidity but also firm black fruit. -R.V."

Wine Spectator Online, April 2006 "85-88 Points. Wonderful perfume of berry, licorice and vanilla follows through to a full-bodied palate, with soft tannins and a medium finish. —J.S."

Wine has been made at the estate since the 1700’s. At one stage in the nineteenth century it was the largest estate in the neighbourhood. At the time of purchase however it had been reduced to just five hectares of depleted vineyard.

Since then a completely new team has transformed the wine and the estate. Renovation in every sense – estate, vineyard, winery, barrel cellar, and the fundamental approach to making wine means that Château Teyssier is widely regarded as a new-wave, modern-style wine from Saint-Émilion. Most importantly the wine is now sought after by a loyal following.

Eighty-five per cent Merlot with the remainder being met by Cabernet Franc, the wine originates from the communes of Saint Sulpice de Faleyrens and Vignonet. These communes provide terroir that produce a wine that may be attacked on release or laid down for a few years. The approach in winemaking, which has all the benefits of the modern equipment afforded by the more senior wines, is new world in style. Château Teyssier, is award winning, spicy, velvety, and ripe, but above all, pivots on its expression of fruit.
