Bruno Colin told me that 2006 is "a blend of 2004 and 2005 and I really like the balance of the '06s. We began picking on September 20th and while there was some sorting, our losses were only in the 5% range. I think the limited rot pressure is largely due to our policy of leaving grasses and weeds in the rows between the vines, which serve to pump excess moisture away. We also had very good sugars in pinot, which ranged from 12.5 to 13.4%. Overall, it's a pretty vintage in red and will drink well young." With the exception of the Bourgogne, all the reds were bottled in January. Allan Meadows, Burghound
