My most recent visit with Bruno Giacosa in May 2008 was illuminating, as we spent the afternoon tasting through all of his 2005s, 2006s, and 2007s. It was also my first visit to the estate since the departure of long-time oenologist Dante Scaglione. Change can be difficult, but it can also be energizing, and I hope that will be the case here.
