Dark purple in colour; the nose is classic Coonawarra with hints of cigar and mocha, cedar, spice and a touch of mint. The palate is beautifully balanced and well textured with lovely rich dark fruits, acidity of very good structure. Another Classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon. 93 points Anthony D’Anna
Part of a substantial investment in Coonawarra by McWilliam’s, which first acquired a 50% interest from the Brand family, increased to 100%, and followed this with the purchase of 100 ha of additional vineyard land. Significantly increased production of the smooth wines for which Brand’s is known has followed. The estate plantings include the 100-year-old Stentiford block. James Halliday
