Pimpernel Vineyards Yarra Valley Shiraz 2006
The ’06 Shiraz is dark and intensely coloured with a rich and perfumed bouquet featuring spice and subtle viognier characters.
This is a velvety mouth-filling wine; its seductive palate dominated by dark fruit with plum and morello characters. It possesses a lingering finish with abundant soft tannins. The wine calls for meat and complements rich full flavoured dishes – try it with chorizo pasta.
Pimpernel Vineyards is located at Coldstream, a short drive from Melbourne in the picturesque "Golden Mile" of the Yarra Valley, Victoria’s oldest and most visited wine region.
Our land management system creates a haven for the Scarlet Pimpernel which abounds in the Vineyard, flowering from Spring to Autumn.
We use fruit from dry grown, low yielding vines and prefer traditional hand made wine-making techniques to create individual wines of character, subtlety and finesse.
