Henri Billiot Grand Cru Reserve Brut Non Vintage
The same vintage composition as the Tradition but only the first pressing (cuvee) is used. 75% pinot noir, 25% chardonnay.
Josh Raynolds: Fresh orange and lime on the nose, complicated by a subtle note of floral honey. Racy and precise on entry, offering tight citrus and green apple flavours. Gains flesh with air, picking up candied flower and resinous herb character. Finishes with an intriguing mix of toasted nut and floral qualities and excellent persistence. 91 points.
Antonio Galloni: Literally sparkles on the palate, showing superb clarity and precision. Figs, quince, pears and spices are just some of the aromas and flavours. Perfumed, minerally notes add complexity. Wonderful. 90 pts.
Allen Meadows: A relatively elegant wine though a big one, with ample pinot influence, particularly on the mix of red and white fruit nose with moderate yeast notes that introduce impressively scaled and powerful flavours. The character of its grand cru origins shows up as this is deep, broad, complex and strikingly long. 90 points.
Wine Spectator: Elegant and refined, this features graphite aromas followed by wholegrain toast, lemon and berry flavours. Warm and persistent in a subtle way, with a lingering finish. 90 points.
