Mitchell Harris Pyrenees Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
Great Pyrenees Cabernet delivers classic mint and cassis flavours on a rich, supple palate, and the MH Cabernet Sauvignon is no exception. Match up its gorgeous dark berry notes with a juicy eye fillet or a rich pasta sauce as the night draws in.
Deep dark medium garnet red. Displaying great regional and varietal typicity, this Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2007 Pyrenees vintage once again shows restraint and finesse.
On the nose there is ripe cassis and fresh blueberry notes, with subtle mint and a hint of charry cigar box and leathery oak. Warmer vintage conditions in 2007 provided added richness and volume.
These same characters extend to the palate which delivers elegance, power and finesse via a lovely core of tight dark berry fruits and lingering fine and chalky tannins.
Winemaker John Harris’ move from Yarra Valley legend Domaine Chandon back home to the Pyrenees was the perfect opportunity for our wine-loving families to join together to create Mitchell Harris Wines.
We’re a small but energetic family venture, and we have a great belief in the potential of our region to deliver beautiful fruit. We source grapes around our home base of Ballarat, including the Macedon and Pyrenees Ranges. It’s John’s expertise and thousands of hours experience blending at the tasting bench that give our wines true regional identity and personality.
2010 continues to be busy for Mitchell Harris, with John selected as one of the Winemakers Federation of Australia Future Leaders, and our wines are finding homes in more and more restaurants, bars, stores and glasses across Australia.
