Stonier Mornington Peninsula Reserve Pinot Noir 2007

So I opened this next to a range of $50 village level Burgundy to see how we look at the same (local) price points. And the answer is pretty bloody good as it happens.

Cherry and red fruits, spice, some mulchy earthy goodness and a touch of fragrant fresh basil. It’s light to medium in body with fairly high acid and fine grained tannin - could be just a little tighter and firmer in the mouth but splendid flavour and flow. Good length too. A refined style and a delightful drink. Drink : 2010 - 2015 93 Points Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

This is drinking beautifully at the moment. A wonderfully fragrant nose that highlights just how perfumed, feminine and sexy this wine is. At the 2009 Stoniers International Pinot Noir Tasting, this wine shone against wines 4-5 times it's price. 94 points Anthony D'Anna

A wine of genuine style and complexity, partly created in the vineyard and partly in the winery. It is thus inevitably influenced by the variable Mornington Peninsula climate. James Halliday
