Established: 1989 by cousins Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith.
Philosophy: To make contemporary, high quality wines that are outstanding examples of their type; made from grapes grown in the Adelaide Hills.
Wines: Shaw and Smith specialize in grape varieties suited to the cooler climate of the Adelaide Hills including sauvignon blanc and chardonnay, and merlot and shiraz from warmer sites.
Vineyards: 28 ha of chardonnay and sauvignon blanc planted at M3 Vineyard, Woodside and 25 ha of new plantings of riesling, sauvignon blanc and pinot noir at Balhannah.
