Boccaccio have always been quite modest in regards to boasting about our quality of our Unlabelled wines. You don't survive in such a cut throat industry for 40 years by making claims that you cannot back up. Hence, when we say that we have something quite unbelievable from the Clare Valley believe us. This wine is from the same producer as our famed At Odd’s with the difference being that this wine is from a different vineyard source in Clare. I rate this as a better wine that the 2002 vintage At Odd’s. Vintage 2004 in the Clare Valley will be remembered as one of the greatest vintages for this region and I’m sure our 2004 Unlabelled Clare Valley ‘Against All Odds’ will be one of the great bargains from this region. Please put this side by side with Leasingham Bin 61 Clare Valley Shiraz 2004 and tell me which wine you prefer. To me the 'Against All Odds' was a clear favourite.
Dark as night with deep purple edges, this wine expels intense dark pepper and liquorice aromas. The palate is quite long, with well structured and grippy tannins and wonderfully complex fruit. This wine has wonderful intensity in the mouth and a finish that seems to go on forever. Make no mistake, this is WHAT Clare Valley Shiraz is all about.
