Paringa Estate Pinot Noir 2007

Paringa Estate was established by Lindsay & Margaret McCall in 1985. Consistent success over the past ten years has seen the label established as one of the leading quality pinot noir producers in Australia. To date, their outstanding success has seen them win 15 Trophies and 22 Gold Medals.

No longer a rising star but a star shining more brightly in the Mornington Peninsula firmament than any other. Lindsay McCall is one of the great pinot noir makers, painting pinots in the Rubens school. The most strikingly individual style in the Paringa range, and arguably the most controversial, although its formidable show record, strewn with trophies and gold medals, would not suggest any great element of controversy. It is very pungent, with herb and spice aromas and flavours attesting to the very cool climate, yet to my palate it has the requisite vinosity and sweet fruit. - James Halliday
