Evans and Tate Margaret River Chardonnay 2006

Direct chardonnay. Long, lean and razor sharp. Flavours of nectarine, lemongrass, biscuits and yeast, a cedary/spicy edge setting it off perfectly. Maybe there's a touch of bitterness on the finish, but personally I find that attractive. There is no sign of creamy blousiness here; this is sharp-shooting chardonnay. Drink: 2008-2012. 90 points. Campbell Mattinson, The Winefront

Star bright – medium straw in colour with green tinges. The nose is lifted and powerful showing intense melon and fig, citrus and floral nuances and subtle spice overtones. The stylish oak is cedary and seamlessly integrated. Medium bodied in weight, the wine has an upfront fruit sweetness with a core of white peach, quince and melon flavours. The palate has remarkable persistence and balance.
