Laughing Jack Limited Three Barossa Valley Old Vine Moppa Grenache 2005 (6 bottle limit)  One of the big eye openers for me in the Barossa Valley was just how good some of the straight Grenache wines are. Close to the best was the yet to be released Laughing Jack Limited 3 Barossa Grenache. I think it is called 'limited 3' as there is only three barrels of this wine. It comes from a vineyard that is around 70 years old and would have to be one of the best Australian Grenache's I have ever tried. Inky black in colour, the palate is a mix blackberry, plum, cola, chocolate and exotic spices. It has beautiful texture, excellent balance and a finish that goes on and on. Whilst it is a big wine, it is not overly tannic and not hot. 96 points Anthony D'Anna
