• Cold maceration for 24 – 36 hours
• During first 7 – 8 days of fermentation, pump-overs at least 3 times a day
• Elevage in stainless steel tanks for 5 - 6 months
• Aged 3 months in bottle before release
We have been working with Massimo to develop a Langhe Rosso (which is a blend of different grape varieties from his own vineyards) for the last five of years. We knew he made amazing Nebbiolo and Barbera but imagine what would happen if he blended both together?
After many different blends, we finally settled on a 70% Barbera, 30% Nebbiolo mix and this I think is the best for Massimo's vineyards in Monforte. The Barbera give it the upfront ruit and roundness that I love with topline Langhe Rosso, and the Nebbiolo gives it the tannin structure and greater complexity to age. Drink this wine or put it in the cellar for ten years. Anthony D'Anna
