'It's rare to find a sulphur free wine at sub $20 that drinks so well, let alone fro a sizeable Italian producer. This is brilliant value, chock full of fresh fruit, amaro herb, crunchy acidity and cherry-pip tang. It's all red fruits and piquant spice in perfume, crisp red cherry, pomegranate and cranberry to taste. Tannins firm up the wine to a distinct pumice-like pucker. The charisma is huge here. "No SO2. And, I’d say, if you enjoy Lamoresca Rosso, then you’re likely to enjoy this. Hand picked, no new oak. Big company making it but, hey!, what’s in the glass is great. Importer: Mondo
Wow this is a good bottle of wine for under $20. Bitter chocolate and almonds, violets, smoking volcanic rocks and blood, not least blood plum. Medium bodied, rich fleshy ripe chalky tannic palate with gentle acidity, all that almond, dark chocolate and dried herb, a perky kind of raspberry freshness and flavour, and a long finish plump with tannin…and expectation of the next mouthful. Brilliant. If you like Italian wine, if you kind of like ‘natural wine’, then get onto this immediately. In the immortal words of Starsky “Do it. DO IT.”' - Gary Walsh, The Wine FrontSku: 1288
