This is a declassified Yarra Valley Chardonnay that failed to make the cut in this winemakers 'own label'. This wine eptomises the what we love about Yarra Valley Chardonnay and we think that it is better than many of the $20 Chardonnay's in the marketplace today.
So to summarise, this wine is made from one of Australia 'young gun' winemakers and already has won numerous trophies and gold medals for the Chardonnay he makes under his 'normal label'. This wine is made from declassified fruit that has just missed out on going into one of Australia 'best value' $20-ish Chardonnays' and at $10 a bottle this represents serious buying. Matchstick, flint, grapefruit, hints of fennel and a long layered finish.
