Benevelli Piero is situated in Monforte d'Alba in the heart of Barolo Langa. The estate is a committed to preserving traditions and not abandoning the teachings of those who came before them, whilst at the same time supplementing this knowledge with the use of modern technologies.
The wine is ruby red with violet hues. Aromas of intense, full hints of violet, raspberry and roses. Harmonic and dry with a pleasant fruity soft finish.
It’s a lighter style with a fine rose and aniseed perfume, red cherry and dried herb, Fresh, bright, a little rasp to the tannin, but has clarity of fruit and an autumnal character to it. Almond and red fruits on a crisp finish of good length. I like the energy here, even though the tannin is just a bit scratchy and slightly hard. Grows well in glass, and likely to age pretty well, and improve over the medium term.
