A rich offering from vines planted in 1945, the Gevrey-Chambertin offers a very dark colour with some lifted oak on the nose. On the palate there is some gentle acidity, red berry and mouth-coating tannins. This 2014 vintage makes for splendid drinking presently.

The ultra-fresh and cool nose features notes of pomegranate, cassis and blue pinot fruit trimmed in plenty of earth and humus nuances. There is a lovely texture to the muscular and admirably concentrated flavors that possess excellent richness before concluding in a moderately austere, balanced and impressively long finale. This robust high-quality effort is very Gevrey.
