Ruby red intense colour with violet glares. Scent and taste typically fruity of berries and slightly of black sour cherry and plum with some spicy and balsamic notes. A perfect balance of smoothness, freshness and minerality. Aftertaste of toasted almond, typical of the Primitivo of Gioia del Colle.

Ripe, blackberry liqueur, gun metal (don’t come near my daughters!), liquorice, cocoa, dried herb and lavender. Lush, sooty, all the dark chocolate and black fruit, throaty, full throttle, warm too, though tastes savoury and earthy with it. and even though it’s full on, and lavish, it has a core of ‘minerally’ acidity that keeps it in check, and grainy tannin on a long finish. A lot of oomph. No shortage of charisma. Excellent.
