Over the past 55 years, Jim Barry has developed and nurtured a mosaic of vineyards, each unique in site, soil and aspect.
Distinct parcels of fruit are selected to make wines that reflect the vineyard from which the grapes are grown. This Cabernet was selected from their Kirribilli vineyard in the Coonawarra and shows the hallmark richness and intensity of wines grown on the region's famous Terra Rossa soil.
This strikes the pulpy tannic pose of the other wines in the ‘single vineyard' swag, while imparting a more finely grained ferrous tune to Cab's oiling. The Clare's bitter choc-mint is replaced with a gentle whiff of menthol, cabernet's varietal genetics otherwise on full display.
