The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin from Domaine Joseph Roty is a classic expression of the estate’s deep, old-vine holdings in the village. This cuvée brings together fruit from La Platière, Les Craies, Charreux, Puits de la Barraque, and Champ Perrier du Bas, showcasing both power and poise.
The nose opens with a wild aromatic character — black raspberry, plum, humus, and a subtle sauvage undertone. The palate follows with muscular texture and broad shoulders, delivering firm structure and intensity while retaining a sense of precision and lift. There’s a beautiful balance between the richness of fruit and the fine, persistent tannins, leading to a long, warm, and satisfying finish.
