Sourced from vines planted in 1973 on the northern edge of the Yarra Yering estate, the Underhill Shiraz is a study in restraint, purity and longevity. This is the darker, more brooding sibling in the Yarra Yering line-up — a wine that marries power with impeccable detail.
The 2022 vintage opens with aromas of blackberry, graphite, black olive and cracked pepper, layered with subtle spice and cured meat notes. The palate is savoury and focused, with fine tannins and a long, mineral drive that promises graceful development in the cellar.
