Castellaccio’s Coste di Felice captures the bright, energetic side of Chianti Classico. Grown high in the hills around Lamole and Lucolena, this organic 2024 is pure Sangiovese: fragrant, savoury and beautifully fresh, with the mineral drive and fine structure that distinguish these cooler, wind-swept sites.

The fruit is handharvested, carefully sorted and gently crushed before undergoing spontaneous fermentation in concrete, with 30 days on skins. The wine then matures for 12 months in seasoned 25-hectolitre oak botti, followed by a further six months in bottle. The traditional, low-intervention approach keeps the focus firmly on fruit, site and the natural character of Sangiovese.

Bright cherry and raspberry lead the nose, joined by red flowers, orange zest, wild herbs and a subtle savoury note. The palate is medium-bodied and wonderfully alive, with pure red fruit, mouth-watering acidity and finely shaped tannins. A salty mineral edge and gentle bittersweet character bring definition to the long, clean finish.

This is a graceful, highly drinkable Chianti Classico with enough depth to develop further in bottle. Enjoy it now with a brief decant, or cellar through the early 2030s. Serve alongside pappardelle al ragù, bistecca or tagliata, roast pork, ribollita, salumi, mushrooms or aged pecorino.

Boccaccio Cellars offers real time shipping rates at checkout. These are heavily subsidised rates directly from Australia Post and will vary depending on your postcode.

Unfortunately, due to the ever increasing costs of postage we are unable to offer free shipping any longer. Postal increases have seen the average box of wine range from $30-$60, which can represent up to 500% of the cost of the average bottle of wine.

Your postal costs are calculated on the following factors:

  • Where in Australia you are shipping to (Where rural postcodes obviously attract a higher charge)
  • What in Australia you are shipping (Beer and water for example, are calculated in real time without any additional subsidy. This is because the margins for these products are minimal). Dry goods attract a discounted flat fee of $12 per carton (Calculated by gross weight).

Pickups on all items are encouraged.
