'The wine is intensely aromatic pure and fresh. The bright red fruits flow into cinnamon, spice, clove and cherry. This is a classically high-toned wine, and reminds me of the 2005 release, which is still drinking beautifully. The palate is initially structural and spicy, with the added Eden Valley component complementing the Barossa Shiraz perfectly. After decanting, the wine evolves into a rich and textural beast, with silky smooth ripeness supported by fine, grainy tannin. A great example of how the neighboring Valleys can complement each other.
This is the fifteenth consecutive release of the Bruce, an achievement that we are very proud of. This wine, above all others, tells the story of our journey in wine and the evolution of Izway. The 2017 Bruce is one for the cellar, with ideal drinking at 2025-2030, although decanting will reward the impatient..' - Izway Wines
