Laherte Frères Ultradition Champagne
The Laherte Frères Ultradition Champagne is a beautifully expressive grower Champagne that captures the purity, energy and terroir of the Côteaux Sud d'Épernay and Vallée de la Marne. Crafted by Laherte Frères under the guidance of Aurélien Laherte, this refined multi-vintage cuvée showcases fruit sourced from 8 villages, farmed ecologically on prized limestone soils.
The blend of 60% Pinot Meunier, 30% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir delivers remarkable balance between richness, freshness and mineral precision. The base wines are vinified in a combination of large-format foudres, stainless tanks and oak barrels, with partial malolactic fermentation enhancing texture and depth. Around 40% reserve wines aged in barrel add further complexity, while six months resting on fine lees in bottle before disgorgement brings polish and finesse.
In the glass, it reveals a pale straw colour with a lively lacy mousse and an exceptionally fine, persistent bead. The nose is immediately captivating, opening with aromas of fresh bread, yeast lees and baked brioche, layered with citrus peel, toasted almond and delicate oily toast notes.
The palate is vivid and beautifully sculpted, combining precision tension with generous intensity. Flavours of citrus, toasted bread, yeast complexity and chalky minerality glide across the palate, supported by subtle notes of cashew and limestone-driven freshness. The finish is long, refined and distinctly chiselled, leaving an elegant mineral persistence.
