Dark red in colour, with a very complex nose with hints of blackberries and ripe cherries. This complexity carries over to the palate, rich, juicy and ribena-like, with plums and fruitcake characters showing through. As ever the finish is long and lingering with wonderful 'soft grain' tannins. Drink now or wait 12-15 years.

A defining feature of this wine is how complete it appears, even in youth. It bodes well for long-term enjoyment, too. A synergy of flavour and textures from blackcurrants, mint, toasty and cedary wood, and more besides. Finely chiselled tannins and cleansing acidity slink across the full-bodied palate.
