Deep Magenta red with purple hues. Lifted perfumed floral and spice notes along with intense aromas of fresh blackberries, blackcurrants and dark plums along with aromatic French oak influence.
The wine displays an edgy palate tension revealing multiple layers of blackberry, dark plum, mulberry, Asian five spice and complex minerality. Plush, powdery fruit tannins dance along the length of the palate and complement the focused, intense fruit as the palate builds. Focused fruit tannins work seamlessly with fine grained French oak, providing structure, balance and persistence to the deep core of concentrated, pure fruit.' - Mitchelton Wines

The company flagship, with a Heathcote focus these days, garnering the region's strengths – deep intensity of colour and fruit power – but definitely presenting a greater elegance than some of its competitors. Blackcurrant, red plums, licorice, woodsy spice. There's a balance of key elements across the palate, an almost mineral-like fineness to the tannins and smart oak handling. Bit of a quiet achiever.
