This mystery pack brings together six bottles each of the Unlabelled Mount Camel Heathcote Shiraz 2015 and the Unlabelled Heathcote “The Brute” Shiraz 2020.
It is a rare chance to taste two different stages of Heathcote Shiraz side by side, with the extra development of the 2015 vintage alongside the depth and structure of the 2020.
Heathcote has built its reputation on Shiraz, and for good reason. The region’s ancient soils and warm days produce reds with generous dark fruit, spice and impressive structure, while cooler nights help retain balance and freshness.
Expect classic Heathcote territory: blackberry, dark plum, pepper and savoury spice, with the richness to stand up to hearty food.
The 2015 Mount Camel offers the interest of a mature release, while the 2020 “The Brute” provides a younger counterpoint. Six bottles of each means there is enough to open now, share around the table and revisit over time.
At their normal labelled prices, this dozen would total $252. The unlabelled dozen-pack price is just $132— a saving of $120, or 48%.
The label may be a mystery, but the value certainly isn’t.
Pair these wines with slow-cooked beef, roast lamb, grilled steak, smoky barbecue dishes, rich mushroom ragù or mature cheddar. Serve at 16–18°C, with a little time in the glass.
